I'm an immigrant and would never second-guess somebody's patriotism. From my perspective the biggest problem is lack of respect for the people on the opposite of whatever side you're on. I think ppl on both sides of the spectrum -- and I'm talking ordinary citizens, not politicians or lobbyists -- want what's best for the country. And both sides agree on a remarkable number of issues (more efficient government, lower deficits, etc.). But until the personal rancor is overcome and people acknowledge the good will of their opposite numbers, it's going to remain a shouting match with the haters in charge of the debate and meaningless slogans going over each other's heads.

 

I enjoy watching you squirm as you attempt a decent retort. That is ok isn't it? If anything, you've made a few laugh, but that's about it.
