Hollyoaks star Anna Passey ‘giddy’ with excitement as she confirms ‘ace’ new Sienna story that’ll have fans ‘losing their minds’

Hollyoaks star Anna Passey has revealed a major new storyline that has made her ‘giddy’ with excitement, confirming that it’s one she never could’ve imagined in her wildest dreams.

The actress, who plays Sienna Blake, struggled to contain her excitement as she sat down for a chat with me to exclusively to dish what’s coming up in the Channel 4 soap, which is experiencing a resurgence under new leadership.

‘There’s a story that I’m giddy about that I’m sitting on,’ she said, with the biggest of smiles. ‘I can’t say anything about it but it’s ace. It’s one of those stories that the audience are going to lose their minds over.

The narrative in question, which is being kept under wraps, is so good, according to Anna that she said it’s all she could ever ‘hope or dream for in a storyline.’

How exciting!

The soap star was also quick to note that the story will be one of the first ‘from-scratch’ stories tackled by Hannah Cheers – who previously worked on the show – following her appointment in the wake of previous boss Lucy Allan’s departure.

‘Hannah came in half way through the storyline we’ve been working on with Rafe but this will be the first from-scratch full Hannah storyline,’ continued Anna.

‘Hannah is the original creator of Sienna. My character workshops were with Hannah! All of my favourite stories were Hannah’s stories, so for my character personally I’m so excited! She’s given me something that I couldn’t have dreamed and I’m really looking forward to it.’

Screaming with excitement, not going to lie.

Sienna’s year has been anything but quiet and Hollyoaks has been unmissable as a result, so word of this intriguing story will likely come as good news to fans.

The former high school teacher has been at the centre of the drama after she split with Ethan Williams (Matthew James Bailey) in her pursuit of Rafe Harcourt (Chris Gordon), who was murdered on his wedding day by actual wife Dilly (Emma Johnsey-Smith).

To complicate matters further, Dilly was then revealed to be Sienna’s sister, with both of them sharing a father in Patrick Black (Jeremy Sheffield).

Anna told me that Dilly, who has gone into hiding with some help from Ethan, will find herself in a strange world plagued by visions of her dead dad. Sienna, meanwhile, will find herself conflicted on whether or not to help her newbie sister. And speaking of decisions regarding her future, is there any hope of a reunion for Ethan and Sienna?

‘So much damage has been done at this stage that it feels difficult to see how we’ll undo it but I do think, always, it was never that she didn’t love Ethan,’ Anna said.

‘In her ideal scenario she would just clone herself and one would get all the stability with Rafe, everything she thought she needed. But I think the other one would want to have a simple life with Ethan. I think if there were no kids in the equation she would pick Ethan, but she’s just thinking about the whole package.

‘I do think that’s a lesson to learn for her, that sometimes you’re looking around for where he grass is greener, this idyllic, perfect life that she thinks that she needs, but personally I think Ethan’s got everything they need to give those kids a good life no matter what.

‘There’s a lot of love there and Ethan really loves the kids and Sienna so I think she just needs to learn that lesson that sometimes what you need is right in front of you.’
