Police Commissioner to tour St Catherine
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Commissioner of Police Dr Carl Williams is expected to tour sections of St Catherine on Thursday, a media advisory issued by the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit said this afternoon.
Williams, who last Monday announced that the Police High Command has “refined” its murder reduction strategy, is expected to traverse the St Catherine North and South Police Divisions before culminating his tour with a town hall meeting in the old capital at the Spanish Town Police Station.
The tour is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
His expected presence in the area comes on the heels of a tour of the St Catherine North Police Division by Security Minister Peter Bunting last Friday.
On that tour, Bunting announced plans to establish a police post at the Spanish Town bus park as part of long-term measures to address crime in the area, including extortion by criminal gangs.
