Hello.... I think it's part of the online community, people come and go all the time... and if their true friends then they will know of your demise, from other friends and or family... but I don't think anyone online or here for that fact would miss me... I tend to keep to myself...

Well if you really look at what friends are nowadays vs 25 to 30 years ago, most people now wouldn't care if you died and unless your funeral is a post on facebook don't look for these "friends" to show up.

When tragedy strikes now most people don't give a shit and think hitting the like button on facebook is plenty enough of a response. Back when i was a kid things were way different than now because most often if someone was a friend chances were you would see that person at least every day or so. So if i kick out i don't care if anyone finds out or not simply because i have learned over the years to try to detach from everything and save everyone the trouble

 

Funerals are still very well attended in my neck of the woods, I can not recall ever seeing an on-line funeral though.


Come to think of it, I've seen funerals draw 4-500 people for a nobody (well there was a body, but it was of a nobody).

 

well yes, i just meant because of social media lots of people claim to be a friend but really don't give a shit about the people the claim as a friend. Those type "friends" didn't exist 30 years ago

 

Don't be discouraged, there are still good people out there. Part of the problem I see is that everyone is busy working now a days. It was a lot simpler when I was first out of collage and only had to clock in 8 hrs a day and then my time was mine to spend with friends and attending parties but I wanted more and worked long hrs at my own business and gave up much of my private time with friends.

Idk how anyone would know. It doesn't particularly concern me.

 

I left in my will instructions for my online friends to be buried alive with me.

 

I doubt that anyone on this site would ever know. And not to disparage the "friends I have made here", but it wouldn't bother me that much if ya'll didn't know. Even though I had my wife send a message to this site for me several years ago, I seriously doubt that she would know how to get onto this forum. Nor would she care to.
