As far as the panthers go, what would happen if where ever they are there are a few KKK with nooses.

Where I live we do not have this problem and besides most of us have carry permits so there would be no problems.

 

The vid is more Breightbart bullshit. The guy deliberately went into a polling place where he wasn't registered and demanded the ballot of someone he knew was. But he did not get to vote as Holder. The system worked and he was exposed as a fake. He only avoided jail because he didn't try and use Holder's ballot.

And, by the way, most people who lack the IDs required by this law are not on welfare. Most people in retirement homes are quite able to pay their own way, as are most students and large city residents.

It's great to hear that where you live there aren't many of these problems. Unfortunately the problems exist in other places. Most problems are not simple or simply solved. This problem these laws were meant to fix never existed except as a myth dreamed up to keep some people from voting, and they cause far more harm than they could ever prevent.

Do some research on the subject in places other than Fox News sites or Murdoch owned media and learn a bit about it.

 

If it was this blatant, then why hasn't anyone done anything about it. As a citizen it is your right and duty to raise this issue. I get the impression that those complaining about this just need something to blame their troubles on.

The states that require ID the voting for minorities and poor has increased not dropped off. The only reason to not want people to show ID is to allow people to vote that are not supposed to be voting.

There was a study done with the election when al franken was elected that over 1100 felons voted now how did that happen?? Why were the rolls not purged of people that should not vote or that have moved or died???

An opinion blog is hardly something I'd put much stock in, nor would I consider The Blaze, a website owned by Glenn Beck, the only person I've ever heard of too detached from reality for Fox News to keep on the payroll or Big Government, created by Andrew Breightbart who's name became a synonym for video slander and libel to be reputable sources for anything other than propaganda that would have made Joseph Goebbels blush.

After you've done a bit of research, get back to me. I love a good debate, but I'd never engage someone in a contest of wits who was unarmed.

 

not sure if the same law effects every state but in the state of texas are written as so any police officer can at any time stop anyone for no reason other than verifying thier identity

a few months back i was out walking in town and was stopped for id, i was asked what i was doing in the area i explained i was there because i was walking to the store on the corner down the street from my shop, he asked where my shop was and i told him the walk was about 3 blocks

i have been stopped because i do not look like someone that should be driving a nice car when they find out that i am perfectly legal and have no wants or warrants they let me go about my day

i am glad that the police are taking actions to defend the rights of the public and not allowing criminals and illegals to remain free

Most certainly.

 

Voter ID is a solution looking for a problem that doesn't really exist. Even if there were 500 documented cases of voter fraud, actual voter fraud not stupid names on voter registrations, out of the 131,000,000 plus votes cast in 2008 presidential election that would be a percentage of less than .0001%.

I may have actually pointed out, in some previous thread, that actual voter fraud itself is not an election wining endeavor. A single person would perhaps get away with 1 or 2 extra votes and the chances of getting caught even at that are pretty high. In order to have even the smallest effect It would take a concerted effort of many thousands of people in a conspiracy so large that it would be apparent before could even be placed into effect.
The real voter fraud that could sway elections is voter fraud during the counting phaze that happens mostly behind closed doors out of the public eye. That's where any real problem would occur and you'd never even know it happened.

Old thread but still timely.

Just returned from casting my early vote for the mid-term election, plus some state and local offices and issues.

Among the issues was a state constitution amendment or two, and an issue of allowing grocery stores to sell wine.

Interestingly the polling place, a public library, was fairly busy with a mix of voters which includes racial and gender diversity.

There were no delays, no rejections for lack of photo ID or literacy problems, despite the prophesy of the doomsayers in the media. Anyone else vote early, what was your experience?

I have to have photo id in texas and since I have to have it to prove I am me at the doctors and to drive and at the bank I don't see any issues with it

 

did you all see the news article about illegal aliens and non citizens found on the voter rolls in North Carolina?

simple thing; just use the standard photo ID's already part of everyday life (Drivers Liscence, state ID card, Passport)

 

Are you suggestion we bar so many minority and democrat voters with such an idea?
